SSC in Executive Branch (General Service/Hydro Cadre) & Technical Branch (Gen. Service) Jan 2018 Course

Indian Navy invites applications from eligible Engineering Candidates to join The Indian Navy as Short Service Commissioned Officers in Executive Branch (General Service/Hydro Cadre/ Information Technology) and Technical Branch (General Service) Jan 2018 Course at Indian Naval Academy Ezhimala, Kerala

Candidates must fulfill conditions of nationality as laid down by the Government of India
 

Age Limit

Candidates for the above entries must be aged between 19 years 6 months and 25 years i.e. Candidates must be born between 2nd Jan 1993 and 01st Jul 1998, both dates inclusive
 

Educational Qualifications

Executive Branch

(a) General Service/Hydrography Cadre: BE /BTech (Any Discipline); Men only, 60% marks

Technical Branch

(b) Engineering Branch (General Service): (i) Mechanical (ii) Marine (iii) Automotive (iv) Mechatronics (v) Industrial & Production(vi) Metallurgy (vii) Aeronautical/Aerospace (v) BS Marine Engineering; Only Men; 60%

(c) Electrical Branch (General Service): (i) Electrical (ii) Electronics (iii) Tele Communication (iv) Instrumentation (v) Instrumentation and Control Engineering (vi) Electronics and Instrumentation (vii) Electronics and Communication (viii) Power Engineering (ix) Control System (x) Power Electronics; Only Men; 60%

Note:

(i) Only one application is to be filled by a candidate (ii) Candidates who are eligible for more than one branch/cadre should mention their preference in the application (iii) Candidates will be shortlisted for SSB based on their first preference (iv) However, if not shortlisted for the first preference you may be considered for alternate branch/cadre subject to availability of spare slots in SSB batches of that branch/cadre

Once shortlisted for a branch/cadre subsequent stages of selection process (SSB, medicals & meriting) will be exclusively for the branch/cadre only
 

Physical Standards

The candidates should not be colour/ night blind and must be physically fit according to the physical standards mentioned in the Notification.

Minimum height – 157 cm with correlated weight

Eye Sight – Without glasses with glasses – 6/12 & 6/6 or 6/12 & 6/6
 

Selection Process

a) IHQ of MoD reserves the right to shortlist applications and to fix cut off/ percentage of marks without assigning any reasonNo communication will be entertained on this account. SSB interviews for short listed candidates will be scheduled at Bangalore/Bhopal/Coimbatore /Visakhapatnam during May- Jul 17

Selected candidates will be informed about their selection for SSB interview on their e-mail or through SMS (provided by candidates in their application form)

(b) SSB interview will be conducted in two Stages. Stage I test consisting of Intelligence Test, Picture Perception and Discussion test will be conducted on the first day of arrival at SSB

Candidates who fail to qualify in Stage I will be routed back on the same day. Stage II tests comprising of Psychological testing, Group testing and Interview will last for 04 days. Successful candidates will thereafter undergo Medical Exam (approx duration 03-05 days)
 

How to Apply

Candidates are to register and fill application on the recruitment website www.joinindiannavy.gov.in

The candidates are to apply from 04th February 17 to 24th February 2017. Online (e-application)

Whilst filling up the e-application, it is advisable to keep the relevant documents readily available to enable the following:

(a) Correct filling up of personal particulars. Details are to be filled up as given in the Matriculation Certificate

(b) Fields such as e-mail address, mobile number are mandatory fields and need to be filled

(c) All relevant documents (preferably in original) and a recent size colour photograph should be scanned in original JPG/FITT format, respectively for attaching the same while filling up the applications

(d) If any scanned document is not legible/readable for any reason the application will be rejected. Candidates are to take print out of application and carry it while appearing for SSB interview
