Government of Tamil Nadu, Medical Services Recruitment Board (MRB) has published a notification for the recruitment of 414 Assistant Surgeon (Speciality) Vacancies on temporary basis by conducting Special Qualifying Exam.

Candidates should be minimum 18 years and maximum of 35 years for General, SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBC & DCs, BCs, BCMs (including Ex-Servicemen belonging to these communities) 18 to 57 years & Ex-Servicemen belonging to ‘others’ 18 to 48 years as on 01st July 2016 (Age relaxation is applicable as per rules)
Citizenship
That he is – A person of Indian Origin
Who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tankanika and Zanzibar) Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia with the intention of permanently settling in India, should obtain a certificate of eligibility given by the Govt. of Tamil Nadu
A subject of Nepal or Bhutan should also obtain a certificate of eligibility given by the Govt. of Tamil Nadu
Educational Qualification
Candidates should possess MBBS Degree with PG Diploma/ PG Degree/ Super Speciality Degree/ DNB in the concerned Speciality & Must be a registered practitioner within the meaning of the Madras Medical Registration Act, 1914
Must have served as House Surgeon (CRRI) for a period of not less than twelve months
Candidate should have registered his/her name in the Tamil Nadu Medical Council on or before the date of this notification
If a candidate claims that, the educational qualification possessed by him/her is equivalent though not the same as those prescribed for the appointment, the onus of proof rests with the candidate
Selection will be based on the marks scored by the candidate in PG Degree / Super speciality / DNB / PG Diploma (as the case may be) in concerned Specialty / Super specialty
Rs.15600-39100/- + Grade Pay Rs.5400/-; details can be seen in Annexure-6 of this notification
Candidates belonging to SC/SCA/ST/DAP (PH) have to pay Rs.375/- and Rs.750/- for all other candidates through debit/credit card or net banking or Mobile Wallet in any branches of Indian Bank to make the payment
