Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) has issued a notification for the recruitment of Executive Trainees (21th Batch) vacancies through GATE-2016 in various disciplines

POWERGRID, the Central Transmission Utility (CTU) of India and a Navratna Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Power, Govt. of India is engaged in power transmission business with the mandate for planning, co-ordination, supervision and control over complete inter-State transmission system

POWERGRID is looking for Bright, Committed and Energetic engineers to join its fold as Executive Trainees in the disciplines of Electrical, Electronics, Civil Engineering and Computer Science

Commencement of Online submission of GATE Application: 01st September 2015

Last Date of Online Submission of GATE Application: 01st October 2015

Last Date for Online Submission of Application to POWERGRID: 29th February 2016

Educational Qualification for Executive Trainee through GATE 2016

Candidates should possess Full Time B.E/ B.Tech /B.Sc in Electrical/ Electrical (Power)/ Electrical and Electronics/ Power Systems Engineering from recognized University/ Institute with minimum 65% marks, AMIE in Electrical with minimum 65% with both sections A & B cleared by 31st March 2016

Upper Age Limit: Candidates age limit should be 18 – 28 years as on 31st December 2015; age relaxation will be applicable as per rules

Relaxations & Concessions

i) Reservation/Relaxation/Concession to candidates belonging to OBC (NCL)/ SC/ ST/ PwD/ Ex -SM/ J&K Domicile/Victims of Riots category shall be as per Govt of India directives

ii) Persons suffering from not less than 40% of the relevant disability (OH One Leg (OH-OL)/ Hearing Handicapped – Partially Deaf (HH-PD) shall only be eligible for the benefit for PwD

iii) Relaxation in Marks in essential qualification:

a) For SC/ST/PwD Candidates: Qualifying Marks in essential qualification is relaxed to pass marks

b) For OBC (NCL) candidates: 3 years

c) For SC/ST candidates: 5 years

d) For PwD candidates: 10 years over and above category relaxation (i.e. 10 years for a PwD candidate belonging to General category, 13 years for a PwD candidate belonging to OBC (NCL) category etc)

e) J&K Domicile /Ex-Servicemen/Victims of riots: As per Govt. of India directives

Selection Process for Executive Trainee

The Selection Process consists of marks obtained (out of 100) in the corresponding paper of GATE 2016, Group Discussion & Personal Interview

Eligible candidates will have to appear for the corresponding paper of GATE 2016, i.e. Electrical Engineering (EE)/ Electronics and Communication (EC) / Civil Engineering (CE)/ Computer Science and Information Technology (CS)
