Educational Qualification
a) Trade Apprentice (Ex-ITI)
Duration of Training: 12 months (except for Pipe Fitter trade). Pipe Fitter trade is of 24 months duration
Essential Qualification: Applicant should have passed All India Trade Test (AITT) for Craftsmen Training Scheme and possess a National Trade Certificate (NTC) issued by National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT), Govt. of India in the respective feeder trade mentioned above
Age Limit: Minimum – 14 years of age as on 01st January 2018(Candidates born on or before 01st January 2004)
Maximum – 25 years of age as on 01st January 2018(Candidates born on or after 01st January 1993)(Age relaxation applicable for SC/ST/OBC/PH candidates)
b) Trade Apprentice (Fresher)
Duration of Training: As per Apprentice Act
Essential Qualification: Applicant should have passed Class 10th standard /Madhyamik or equivalent examination from recognized Central/State Board. Candidates who have undergone Apprenticeship Training or undergoing Apprenticeship Training or registered for Apprenticeship Training under the Apprenticeship Act elsewhere are not eligible
ITI passed candidates or candidates who have appeared for ITI examination are not eligible for Trade Apprentices (Fresher) vacancies
Age Limit: Minimum – 14 years of age as on 01st January 2018(Candidates born on or before 01st January 2004)
Maximum – 20 years of age as on 01st January 2018(Candidates born on or after 01st January 1998)(Age relaxation applicable for SC/ST/OBC/PH candidates)
c) Graduate Apprentice
Duration of Training: 12 months
Essential Qualification: Applicant should have a Degree in Engineering or Technology granted by a Statutory University or by an Institution empowered to grant such degree by an Act of parliament in the respective subject fields mentioned above
Only the above mentioned subject fields will be considered. Any claim for equivalence to the subject fields will not be considered. Candidates who have passed Degree in Engineering examination in calendar year 2015, 2016 or 2017 are only eligible
Candidates who possess work experience of one year or more are not eligible; students who have completed Post Graduate qualification in Engineering (M.E /M.Tech / MBA) are not eligible
Training will be conducted in Kolkata based Units only
Age Limit: Minimum – 14 years of age as on 01st January 2018(Candidates born on or before 01st April 2004); Maximum – 26 years of age as on 01st January 2018(Candidates born on or after 01st January 1992)(Age relaxation applicable for SC/ST/OBC/PH candidates)
d) Technician Apprentice
Duration of Training: 12 months
Essential Qualification: Applicant should have a Diploma in Engineering or Technology granted by a State Council or Board of Technical Education established by a State Govt./by University in the respective subject fields mentioned above
Only the above mentioned subject fields will be considered. Any claim for equivalence to the subject fields will not be considered.Candidates who have passed Diploma in Engineering examination in calendar year 2015, 2016 or 2017 are only eligible
Candidates who possess work experience of one year or more are not eligible. Students who have completed Post Graduate qualification in Engineering (M.E/M.Tech/MBA) are not eligible

Reservation
Reservation will be applied as per the provisions of the Apprentices Act 1961 and Apprenticeship Rules 1992 as amended from time to time
Applicants belonging to SC / ST category should produce their caste certificate inprescribed format issued by competent Authority
Selection Process
The mere fact that a candidate has submitted application against theAdvt. and apparently fulfilling the eligibility criteria as prescribed in the advertisement would not bestow on him / her the right to be definitelyconsidered for selection process
Candidates applying for Trade Apprentice (Ex-ITI) can opt for Training either at Kolkata or at Ranchi. They will be considered accordingly for preparing the Merit List
Merit List based on marks scored in the Qualifying Exam in each trade/discipline i.e. AITT under CTS for Trade Apprentice (Ex-ITI), Degree in Engineering exam for Graduate Apprentice and Diploma in Engineering Exam for Technician Apprentice
Pay Scale
Trade Apprentice (Ex-ITI)/ Trade Apprentice (Fresher):Finalised candidates for these posts will get the salary as 1st year: 70%, 2nd year: 80%, 3rd year: 90% of minimum wages of semi-skilled workers
Technician Apprentice: Finalised candidates for these posts will get the salary as Rs.8000/- per month
Graduate Apprentice: Finalised candidates for these posts will get the salary as Rs.10000/- per month
