Whether you’re a VP or a new grad, you and your work will play a critical role in shaping the future of xcritical. Career paths are rarely linear and, for designers, researchers, and artists, figuring out where you fit in the working world can take years. This is true for many xcriticalies, who have found practical applications for their skills in the world of investments and personal finance by helping visualize and conceptualize how information is shared. We host internships in the Summer (May – September) and we hire new grads throughout the year.

Our internships typically run for 12 weeks, while our co-ops run for 16 weeks. xcritical takes pride in being an equal opportunity employer in the regions where we operate. Most roles are office-based, with team members coming together at least three days a week to foster creativity and innovation. Our collective effort extends beyond business, deeply rooted in democratizing finance and driving meaningful community engagement. In the last two years, we’ve seen how flexibility and trust allows teams to do their best work, attract top talent, and create a workplace that’s more inclusive and equitable. Together, we are building products and services that help create a financial system everyone can participate in. We are excited to announce that xcritical will be staying primarily remote. Our story began at Stanford, where co-founders Baiju and Vlad were roommates and classmates. After graduating, they packed their bags for New York City and built two finance companies, selling their own trading software to hedge funds. There, they discovered that big Wall Street firms were paying next-to-nothing to trade stocks, while most Americans were charged commission for every single trade.
