West Bengal Staff Selection Commission (WBSSC) has issued a notification for the recruitment of Stenographer Posts.

Pay Scale

Stenographer (Schedule – A) – Pay Band – 3 (Rs.7100/- – Rs.37600/-); Grade Pay Rs.3600/- (Entry Point minimum pay of Rs.7910/- per month

Stenographer (Schedule – B) – Pay Band – 3 (Rs.7100/- – Rs.37600/-); Grade Pay Rs.3600/-

Eligibility Criteria

For the Post of Stenographer (Schedule – A & Schedule – B):

(a) A Pass in Madhyamik Examination of the West Bengal board of Secondary Education or its equivalent and (b) Acquisition of knowledge in Computer Literacy

Must have the ability to read, write and speak in Bengali (not applicable to those candidates whose mother tongue is Nepali) as per Finance Department (Audit Branch)

Age Limit:

Applicants should have minimum of 18 years and maximum of 32 years as on 01st January 2016

Reservation /Age Relaxation

Upper age limit is relaxable

1. For SC/ST Candidates: By 5 years for SC/ ST candidates of West Bengal; the benefit of reservation will be admissible to the SC/ ST candidates of West Bengal only, if such reservation is advertised against any post for respective Category

The benefits of age relaxation for SC/ ST candidates will be admissible to all such candidates as per existing Govt. rules & regulation

1. For BC – A/ BC – B Candidates: By 3 years for BC-A/ BC-B candidates of West Bengal; the benefit of reservation will be admissible to the BC-A/ BC-B candidates of West Bengal only, if such reservation is advertised against any post for respective Category

The benefits of age relaxation for BC-A/ BC-B candidates will be admissible to all such candidates as per existing Govt. rules & regulations

Selection Process

The persons will be selected based on their performance in the Online Examination (General English), Dictation & Transcription, Computer typing test, and the personal interview

Application Fee

The Application Fee is Rs.20/- (Processing Fee only) for SC/ST reserved category candidates. Rs.220/- (Examination Fee + Processing) for all other category candidates; the Application fee should be pay through online mode during filling Online Application Form

The Online Payment using Net Banking / Debit Card / Credit Card (OR) Bank Challan

How to Apply for WBSSC Recruitment 2016

Eligible candidates can apply online application only through the official website of the WBSSC, www.wbssc.gov.in from 18th November 2016 to 20th December 2016.

Fill the application form as per Guidelines given in the official notification. After successful submission, take a printout of application form

In such cases please note down the transaction ID that is generated after successful payment. Application Number will be sent to you by email in the next seven working days
