Eligibility Criteria

 
 
Nationality/citizenship:
 
 
A candidate must be either:
 
 
(a) a citizen of India, or
 
 
(b) a subject of Nepal, or
 
 
(c) a subject of Bhutan, or
 
 
(d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or

3 Junior Engineer (Civil) Dept. of Posts: Three years Diploma or equivalent in Civil Engineering from an institution recognized by the Central Government or State Government.
 
 
4 (a) Jr. Engineer (Civil) – MES; (b) Jr. Engineer (Electrical & Mechanical) – MES: Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised University; or (I) Three years Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognised Institute or University or Board; and; (II) Two years’ experience in Planning, Execution and Maintenance of Civil Engineering works Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from a recognised University; (OR)
 
 
(I) Three years diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from a recognised Institute or University or Board; and
 
 
(II) Two years’ experience in Planning, Execution and Maintenance of Electrical or Mechanical Engineering works
 
 
(c) Junior Engineer (QS&C) – MES – (i) 3 years Diploma in Civil engineering from a recognised institute / University / Board or equivalent; (or); (ii) Passed Intermediate examination in Building and Quantity Surveying Sub Divisional-II of the institute of Surveyors (India)

14. Jr Engineer (Electrical / Mechanical), Central Water Power Research Station – Diploma in Electrical from a recognised University

Selection Process
 
 
Staff Selection Commission (SSC) Junior Engineer Examination selection procedure details are given below
 
 
The examination will be conducted in two stages:
 
 
A. Written Test (500 marks)
B. Interview (100 marks)
 
 
Written Test:a. Written test will consists of two papers viz. Paper -I and Paper-II. Part I will be Objective type questions for 200 marks and Paper II will have Conventional type questions for 300 marks
 
 
Time duration for each paper will be 2 hours. Answer- sheets of Paper-II (Conventional Type) will be evaluated in respect of only those candidates who qualify in Paper-I at the standard as decided/fixed by the Commission at its discretion. There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in Paper-I
 
 
b. Personality Test (Interview): Only those candidates who secure at least the minimum qualifying marks in the written examas may be fixed by the Commission at its discretion, will be eligible to appear in the Interview. Interview will be conducted for 100 Marks
 
 
Candidates who qualify for Interview will be recommended for appointment by the Commission on the basis of total marks in the Written Examination and Interview
 
 
c. Resolution of Tie Cases: In cases where more than one candidate secures the equal aggregates marks, tie will be resolved by applying the following methods one after another:
 
 
(i) Total marks in written examination
 
 
(ii) Marks in Paper-II
 
 
(iii) Marks in Paper-I
 
 
(iv) Date of birth, with older candidates placed higher
 
 
(v) Alphabetical order in the first names of the candidates appear
 
 
Note-I: The Commission may, its discretion fix minimum qualifying standards in interview
 
 
Reservation
 
 
Reservation for SC/ ST/ OBC/ ExS/ PH etc. categories is available as per extant Govt. Orders and as communicated by the departments reporting vacancies.
 
 
The posts have been identified suitable for the persons suffering from disabilities of forty percent (40%) and above of One Arm (OA), One Leg (OL), Hearing Handicapped (HH) as per guidelines of Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment

Candidates are required to pay Rs.100/- through SBI challan/ SBI Net banking or through credit/ debit cards of any bank. No fee for All women candidates, SC, ST & PH candidates.

Apply online on www.ssc.online.nic.in. SSC Junior Engineer Online application form consists of two marks namely (PART-I and PART-II Registration)
 
 
In Part I registration, you will have to fill basic information. On submission of details, you will be prompted to check the details and make any correction in the application. Then you need to click “I agree” button after declaration
 
 
Candidate may note that only online application will be accepted at https://ssconline.nic.in.
 
 
Fee paid in respect of online applications through SBI Challan / Net banking and any credit and debit cards will be accepted
