Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released notification for conducting an open competitive examination for recruitment of Junior Engineers in various Government Departments.

The Open Competitive Computer Based Examination will be conducted from 03rd December to 05th, 2016. Interested candidates should apply through online mode only

Essential Educational Qualifications (as on 01st Aug 2016):

1 Junior Engineer (Civil) – CPWD – Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized University or Institute

2 Junior Engineer (Electrical) – CPWD – Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from a recognised University or Institute

3 Junior Engineer (Civil) Department of Posts – Three years Diploma or equivalent in Civil Engineering from an institution recognized by the Central Government or State Government.

4 (a) Junior Engineer (Civil) – MES

(b) Junior Engineer (Electrical & Mechanical) – MES

Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised University; or (I) Three years Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognised Institute or University or Board; and; (II) Two years experience in Planning, Execution and Maintenance of Civil Engineering works Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from a recognised University; (OR)

(I) Three years diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from a recognised Institute or University or Board; and

(II) Two years experience in Planning, Execution and Maintenance of Electrical or Mechanical Engineering works

13 Junior Engineer (Electrical) Dte of Quality Assurance Naval – Diploma in Electrical Engineering from any recognised University/Institution; and Two years experience in respective fields i.e.- Either of the field quality assurance/quality control/production / manufacturing and testing of switch gears, cables, converters, light and light fittings, motors, generators, drives and control systems, airfield lighting equipment, Electronics/Radar/Radio / Telecommunication equipment, electro hydraulic system, programmable logic controller based systems, printed circuit boards/instrumentation, software development and validation, network control system etc. including knowledge of various standard and their interpretation

Selection Process for SSC JE recruitment 2016

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) Junior Engineer Examination selection procedure details are given below

The examination will be conducted in two stages:

A. Written Test (500 marks)
B. Interview (100 marks)

a. Written Test: Written test will consists of two papers viz. Paper -I and Paper-II. Part I will be Objective type questions for 200 marks and Paper II will have Conventional type questions for 300 marks. Time duration for each paper will be 2 hours. Answer- sheets of Paper-II (Conventional Type) will be evaluated in respect of only those candidates who qualify in Paper-I at the standard as decided/fixed by the Commission at its discretion. There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in Paper-I

b. Personality Test (Interview): Only those candidates who secure at least the minimum qualifying marks in the written examination as may be fixed by the Commission at its discretion, will be eligible to appear in the Interview. Interview will be conducted for 100 Marks

Candidates who qualify for Interview will be recommended for appointment by the Commission on the basis of total marks in the Written Examination and Interview

c. Resolution of Tie Cases: In cases where more than one candidate secures the equal aggregates marks, tie will be resolved by applying the following methods one after another:
(i) Total marks in written examination

(ii) Marks in Paper-II

(iii) Marks in Paper-I

(iv) Date of birth, with older candidates placed higher

(v) Alphabetical order in the first names of the candidates appear

Note-I: The Commission may, its discretion fix minimum qualifying standards in interview

How to Apply for SSC JE 2016

Apply online on www.ssc.online.nic.in. SSC Junior Engineer Online application form consists of two marks namely (PART-I and PART-II Registration)

In Part I registration, you will have to fill basic information. On submission of details, you will be prompted to check the details and make any correction in the application. Then you need to click “I agree” button after declaration

Please note that no correction/modification etc will be allowed after application

Then a page with Registration No. shall be generated. Part II registration requires filling of payment details, uploading of photograph and scanned signature

Online application will be complete only if scanned signature and photo are uploaded as per instructions

SSC Junior Engineer 2016 application fee is Rs.100/-

Application Fee is exempted for Women and candidates belonging to SC/ST, Physically Handicapped, and Ex-Servicemen eligible for reservation, as per Government orders

Fee paid in respect of online applications through SBI Challan/Net banking and any credit and debit cards will be accepted. Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes, Physically handicapped and Ex-Servicemen eligible for reservation are exempted from paying fee, as per rules/instructions of Dept. of Personnel & Training, Govt. of India
