Punjab National Bank invites Application for Specialist Officer Jobs

Punjab National Bank (PNB) is inviting online applications from interested candidates for its more than 80 managerial and officer posts across different divisions.

The online registration process already commenced on January 28, 2014, and it will continue till February 11, 2014. The tentative date of the written examination is March 23. Candidates can download their call letters for the written exam from March 10 onwards.

Out of the total 82 vacancies, 69 are for managerial posts (MMG Scale II) across various divisions (including security, finance, industry, and many more) and 13 are for officers posts (JMG Scale I). 34 seats are reserved for candidates belonging to SC (8), ST (9) and OBC (17) categories. The total number of vacancies and reserved vacancies are provisional and may change based on the actual requirement of PNB.

All Indian nationals, subjects of Nepal and Bhutan, as well as Tibetan refugees who came over to India before January 1, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling, can apply for the post. In addition, Indian origin people who migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling, can also apply.

 

Age, educational qualification, and other eligibility criteria vary from position to position.

Selection of deserving candidates will be done on the basis of their performance in an online written test and/or interview. It is worth noting here that a candidate is not automatically entitled to be called for the written test or interview just because he or she satisfies the minimum eligibility criteria. The online written test will comprise of the following papers:

Duration allotted for the entire exam is – 200 minutes. Apart from the questions from “English Language”, the rest of the test will be bilingual, to be conducted in both Hindi and English. There will be negative marking for wrong answers – for each wrong answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted from the candidate.

The online process will be fully online – application sent using any other mode will not be entertained. Candidates can pay their application fee either online (using Internet banking or Debit/Credit card).

Application Fees/ Intimation Charges [Payable from 28.1.2014 to 11.2.2014

(Online payment) and 30.01.2014 to 13.02.2014 (Offline payment) both dates

inclusive] are as follows: INR 400/ for General/OBC/EXSM candidates and INR 50/ for SC/ST and PWD candidates.

Before applying online, a candidate must make sure that he or she has scanned copies of their signature and photograph ready. They must also ensure that the scanned copies of the same are as per the specifications mentioned in the official advertisement.

The candidates must also have a valid personal email ID where the bank will send their call letters too. In the event a candidate does not yet have an email ID, he or she must make one any maintain it before applying online. Users are strongly advised against sharing an email ID with another candidate or virtually anybody else.

 

An unclear photo or signature may eventually result in cancellation of the candidate’s application. Candidates are also advised to take a printout of the system generated online application form after completing the registration process. The scanned photo and signature attached with the online application form can be edited even after its submission.

All eligible candidates will be required downloading their call letters for the online written test from: www.pnbindia.in/recruitment. Therefore, it is strongly recommended that candidates frequently visit the official PNB website to remain constantly updated. In case candidates face any difficulties in downloading the call letter after March 10, they should immediately call the PNB Help Desk. Candidates should also take a note of the fact that there will be no other mode of receiving the call letter.
