Junior Research Fellowships Recruitment 2013

The Number of vacancies and essential qualifications etc. are indicated below:

Junior Research Fellowship (JRF01): 01 vacancy

Essential Qualification: ME/M.Tech or its equivalent in Water Resources /Hydrology /Soils & Water Conservation/Hydraulics / Irrigation /Agricultural Engineering / Remote Sensing & GIS with B.E./B.Tech or its equivalent in Civil/ Environmental /Agricultural Engineering

Junior Research Fellowship (JRF02): 03 vacancies

Essential Qualification: M.Tech./M.Sc (Tech.) in Geophysics/Applied Geophysics with Physics as one of the subjects in graduation level or;

M.Sc in Geophysics /Applied Geophysics with Physics as one of the subjects in graduation level

Desirable Qualification: Working knowledge of Unix/Linux environment, computer programming knowledge (C, Fortran VB etc.,) Knowledge in Remote Sensing proficiency in Matlab

Junior Research Fellowship (JRF03): 01 vacancy

Essential Qualification: M.Sc Chemistry with specialization in inorganic/analytical/Marine Chemistry

Desirable Qualification: Knowledge in the ocean data collection is preferred

Junior Research Fellowship (JRF04): 01 vacancy

Essential Qualification: M.Sc. Physics/Physical Oceanography/ Marine Science with Physical Oceanography

Desirable Qualification: Knowledge in numerical methods and programming is preferred

Junior Research Fellowship (JRF05): 01 vacancy

Essential Qualification: M.Tech in Geo-informatics

Desirable Qualification: Working knowledge in MATLAB, ARCGIS and soft coding

Important Note:

In respect of Post no. JRF02, M.Sc., candidates shall be considered in case candidates with suitable M.Tech / M.Sc., (Tech) candidates are not screened-in for interview or not selected in the interview

ME/M.Tech/M.Sc., (Engg) or equivalent degree should be in First class with an aggregate minimum of 60% or CGPA/CPI grading of 6.5 on a 10 scale or equivalent and pre-eligibility qualification of BE/B.Tech/B.Sc., (Engg) or equivalent should also be in First Class with an aggregate of 65% (Average of all semesters)

M.Sc., Degree should be in first class with minimum 65% marks as average of all semesters or CGPA/CPI grading of 6.5 on a 10 point scale or equivalent

Age Limit: 18-28 years as on 30th November, 2013

SC, ST, OBC, and Persons with Disabilities are eligible for age relaxation as per Govt. of India rules

Emoluments:

An amount of Rs.16,000/- per month shall be paid in case of candidates recruited with BE/B.Tech/M.Sc., for the 1st and 2nd years and for the subsequent years Rs.18,000/- per month shall be paid

In the case of candidates recruited with M.Tech/M.Sc.,(Tech), Rs.18,000/- per month shall be paid for the 1st and 2nd years and for the subsequent years Rs.20,000/- per month shall be paid

Other benefits:

JRFs are eligible for HRA and medical benefits. The fellowship amount shall be taken as Basic pay for this purpose

Selection Process:

The qualifications prescribed in this advertisement are the minimum requirement and the same does not automatically make candidates eligible to be called for interview

Based on the experience and details of marks obtained by the applicants, the candidates will be shortlisted for interview

Place of Posting: The JRFs are liable to be posted at any of the offices of NRSC i.e. Hyderabad/Bangalore/Nagpur/Kolkata/Jodhpur
