Indian Army invites applications from married /unmarried Male Post Graduates in the subjects notified below for Grant of Permanent Commission in the Army Education Corps (AEC) Course commencing in Jan 2018 at India Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun, Uttarakhand.

Name of the Subject:
Nationality: A candidate must either be: (i) A citizen of India, or (ii) A subject of Bhutan, or (iii) A subject of Nepal, or (iv) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st of January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or (v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India
Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) and (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by Govt. of India. Certificate of eligibility will however not be necessary in the case of candidates who are Gorkha subjects of Nepal
Age Limit
23 to 27 years (as on 01st Jan 2018) at the time of commencement of course (Candidates born between 2nd Jan 1991 and 01st Jan 1995 both dates inclusive)
Education Qualifications
Only those candidates who have passed Post Graduate Degree MA/M.Sc in the following subjects /M.Com/MCA/MBA with 1st or 2nd Division
The selection procedure is as follows:
Candidates will not be interviewed locally
Physical Standard
Height & Weight: The minimum acceptable height and weight for men is 157.5 cms with correlated weight. In case of candidates belonging to the North East and hilly areas like Gorkhas, Nepalese, Assamese and Garhwalis, the height will be relaxed by 5 cms and weight commensurate with reduced height
In case of candidates from Lakshadweep, the minimum acceptable height can be reduced by 2 cms
Pay & Allowances
The Candidates will be given a stipend of Rs.21000/-pm (Rs.15600/- as pay in Pay Band plus Grade Pay of Rs.5400/-). On completion of training, they will be commissioned in the rank of Lt & entitled to pay as admissible to the rank
Army also provides free medical facilities for self & dependents, canteen facilities, entitled ration, Mess/Club/Sports facilities, furnished govt. accommodation, car/housing loan at subsidized rates
