Indian Navy invites applications from Unmarried Male candidates for Enrolment as Sailors for Senior Secondary Recruits (SSR)-02/2016 Batch Course Commencing from August 2016. Indian Navy Sailors Recruitment Notification 2016 has been announced.
All eligible unmarried male candidates may apply online for Indian Navy Sailors Entry SSR 02/2016 vacancies through the website www.joinindiannavy.gov.in
Registration of online application commences from: 23rd November 2015
Last date for registration of online application: 06th December 2015
Last date for receipt of application by Post: 13th December 2015
Last date for receipt of application by Post for the flung areas: 20th December 2015
The course commencing in August 2016
Eligibility Conditions: Unmarried Male Indian citizens and subjects of Nepal and Bhutan
Educational Qualifications: Qualified in 10+2/ equivalent examination with Maths and Physics and at least one of these subjects; Chemistry/Biology/Computer Science
Age Limit: Candidates should have been born between 01st Aug 1995 to 31st Jul 1999 (Both dates inclusive)
Selection Criteria: Selection of recruits is based on the order of merit on their performance in Written Test, qualifying Physical Fitness Test (PFT) and fitness in the Medical Examinations
(a) The question paper will be bilingual (Hindi/English) and objective type
(b) The question paper will comprise of four sections i.e. English, Science, Mathematics & General Knowledge
(c) The standard of the question paper will be that of 10+2 and the syllabus for the exam is available on website
(d) Duration of question paper will be of one hour
(e) The candidates are required to pass in all sections and in aggregate
PFT will consist of 1.6 Km run to be completed in 7 minutes, 20 squat ups (Uthak Baithak) and 10 Push-ups Candidates undergoing PFT will do so at their own risk
(a) Medical Exam will be conducted by authorised military doctors as per medical standard prescribed in current regulations applicable to sailors on entry
(b) Minimum height 157 Cms. Weight and Chest should be proportionate. Minimum Chest 5 Cms
(c) The candidate must be in good physical and medical health free from any disease/disability
During the initial training period, stipend of Rs.5700/- pm will be admissible but on successful completion of initial training an amount equal to the minimum of scale as mentioned below, less stipend already paid, shall be admissible with retrospective effect
On completion of initial training, they will be placed in the Pay Band Rs 5200/- to Rs 20200/-; in addition they will be paid Grade Pay @Rs.2000/- plus MSP @Rs.2000/- plus DA
Promotion prospects exist up to the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer-I (equivalent to Subedar Major) with pay scale of Rs.9300/- to Rs.34800/- plus Grade Pay @Rs.4800/- plus MSP @Rs.2000/- plus DA. Opportunities for promotion to commissioned officer also exist for those who perform well and qualify the prescribed exams

Candidates are advised to go through the official advertisement and follow the all the instructions given for submitting online applications; after submitting the application form online, send printout of online application form along with 01 self-addressed envelope of size 22×10 cms with Rs.10/- stamp affixed and self-attested copies of required documents as matriculation certificate, 10+2 mark sheet, domicile and NCC Certificate (if any) by Ordinary Post to the concerned Office so as to reach on or before last date.
