Recruitment for Junior Research Fellow / Project Assistant Notification 2015

The Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology is an autonomous research organization fully funded by Ministry of Earth Sciences, New Delhi. It is a premier Institute of national and international repute, devoted to research in various aspects of atmospheric sciences.

The Institute has excellent infrastructural facilities such as high performance computers, observational laboratories, modern library, workshop, etc. It has a strong link with various universities and national and international organizations

Junior Research Fellow: 1 post

Eligibility: M.Sc./M.Tech in Atmospheric Sciences /Physics /Environmental Science/Meteorology from a recognized university /institution. NET/GATE qualified candidates will be given preference.

Desirable Qualifications: Good knowledge of computer usage in Windows and software packages. Good knowledge of working in LINUX /UNIX system and FORTRAN programming skill along with WINDOWS

Age Limit: 28 years as on 01st February, 2015

Stipend: Rs. 16,000/- plus HRA per month (performance based enhancement after 2 years).

Tenure: Tenure: 2 years (extendable further for 2 years based on satisfactory performance). The candidate should register for Ph.D.

Project Assistant: 1 post

Eligibility: M.Sc. (Physics/Instrumentation/ Atmospheric Sciences)/ Environmental Science) from a recognized University/ Institution

Desirable Qualifications: Experience in scientific administration and supervision. Working knowledge of data analysis using standard graphics software in Windows

Age Limit: 28 years as on 01st February, 2015

Consolidated Salary: Rs. 22,000/- month (performance based enhancement after 1 year)

Tenure: Tenure: 2 years (extendable further on satisfactory performance).

Relaxation in Upper Age: Upper age limit is relax able by 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, 10 years for physically handicapped and as per rule for ex-servicemen.
