Periyar University announces Recruitment 2014 for 58 posts in the University for Research Fellows.
Periyar University Recruitment University Research Fellowship (58 Posts) – The Government of Tamil Nadu established the Periyar University at Salem on 17th September 1997 as per the provisions of the Periyar University Act, 1997
The University covers the area comprising the districts of Salem, Namakkal, Dharmapuri and Krishnagiri
The University aims at developing knowledge in various fields to realize the maxim inscribed in the logo “Arival Vilayum Ulagu” (Wisdom Maketh World). ”Holistic development of the students” is the primary objective of the esteemed Periyar University.
Periyar University, Salem has issued a notification for the recruitment of 58 University Research Fellowship vacancies under various departments
Eligible candidates may send their applications on or before 05th Sept 2014 by 05.00 PM

3. Periyar Institute of Management Studies: 04 Posts

7. Centre for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology: 03 Posts
8. Biotechnology: 01 Post
9. Environmental Science: 05 Posts
10. English: 05 Posts
11. Mathematics: 02 Posts
12. Sociology: 03 Posts
13. Biochemistry: 01 Post
14. Geology: 03 Posts
15. Foodscience and Nutrition: 02 Posts
16. Education: 01 Post
17. Microbiology: 01 Post
18. Library and Information Science: 05 Posts
19. Psychology: 05 Posts
20. Tamil: 01 Post
21. Journalism and Mass Communication: 01 Post
Eligibility: Candidates who have passed the Post Graduate degree of this University or any other University in Tamil Nadu to have obtained a minimum 55% of marks in their respective subject; however, the minimum eligible marks to have obtained SC/ST candidates is 50%
Duration: Two Years and extendable for the 3rd year, if necessary
Stipend: Rs 5000/- per month with contingency of Rs 5000/- per year for URF
Selection Process: Selection will be made on the basis of written test, interview
Application Fee: Demand Draft for Rs.200/- (SC/ST candidates are eligible to have one application at free of cost) drawn in favour of “The Registrar, Periyar University, Salem-11”, payable at Salem

Application form can be obtained from the Registrar by sending a crossed Demand Draft for Rs 200/- (SC/ST candidates are eligible to have one application at free of cost) drawn in favour of the Registrar, Periyar University, Salem-11, payable at Salem with a self addressed envelope (25cmx 12cm) stamped to the value of Rs 40/-
The SC/ST candidates should enclose an attested copy of permanent community certificate and PG provisional certificate or degree certificate or mark statement of all the semester
The university reserves the right to select or not to select the applicants for URF; application should be made only in the form prescribed by the University
