(*The candidates with Master’s Degree in Geography (with specialization in Population Studies are also eligible to appear in the subject Population Studies)

Eligibility Criteria: Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s degree or equivalent examination from University/Institutions recognized by UGC in Humanities (including languages) and Social Sciences, Computer Science and Application, Earth Science, Population Studies, Education etc are eligible for this Test

SC/ST/PH/VH category candidates who have secured at least 50% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s degree or equivalent examinations are eligible for this test

Candidates who have appeared or will be appearing at the qualifying Master’s degree (final year) examination and whose result is still awaited or candidates whose qualifying examinations have been delayed may also apply for this test

However, such candidates will be admitted provisionally and shall be considered eligible for Lectureship eligibility only after they have passed their Master’s degree examination or equivalent with at least 55% marks (50% in case of SC/ST/PH/VH category candidates)

Such candidates must complete their PG degree examination within two years from the date of SET result with required percentage of marks failing which they shall be treated as disqualified

The Ph.D degree holders whose Master’s level examination had been completed by 19th September, 1991 (irrespective of date of declaration of result) shall be eligible for a relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks (from 55% to 50%) for appearing in SET

Candidates are required to appear in subject of their post-graduation only

In case the subject of a candidate is not included in the list of SET subjects, the candidate may appear in UGC NET/UGC-CSIR NET which is held twice a year

Validity: For lectureship eligibility, the SET certificate is valid for that particular state only and forever

Recruitment to the post of lecturer may be made from among the SET qualified candidates by Universities/ Colleges/ Recruitment Agencies as per their prescribed procedures and Rules & Regulations

Age Limit: There is no upper age limit

Examination Fee: The candidate should submit his/her examination fees through E-Mitra Kiosk, CSC Center authorized by the Rajasthan Govt

The category wise fees are as for BC/SBC (creamy layer) of Rajasthan state and General candidates Rs 650/-; for BC/SBC (non-creamy layer) of Rajasthan state candidates Rs 350/-; for SC/ST of Rajasthan state and all the PH /VH candidates Rs 200/-

Fee once paid will neither be refunded nor adjusted against fee payable for any other examination conducted by the commission under any circumstances

How to apply: The applicant should fill up the online application form according to his/her relevant category for which he/she is eligible

The creamy layer candidates of backward class/special backward class of Rajasthan and the SC/ST/OBC/SBC (creamy layer/Non-creamy layer) candidates other than Rajasthan, come into General category

A candidate is advised to fill the online application according to his/her relevant category

Application Process: Application will be accepted online, which can be filled up through e-Mitra Kiosk or CSC authorized by state Govt

The candidate should pay a sum of Rs 40/- (Rs 30/- for filling of the application form plus Rs 10/- for depositing of examination fee) in addition to examination fee

Candidate can fill up his application form at his own level on www.rpsconline.rajasthan.gov.in, after depositing examination fee at e-Mitra kiosk/CSC

The proforma and instruction for filling the online application form is available on the commission’s website

Before his/her final submission of online application, the applicant should take a print-out of the filled up application form for his/her record and to ensure that all the entries have been filled by him/her correctly

Scheme of Test: The examination will consist of three papers

All the three papers will consist of only objective type questions

Paper-I shall be of General Nature, intended to assess the Teaching/Research Aptitude of the candidate

It will primarily be designed to test Reasoning Ability, Comprehension, Divergent Thinking and General Awareness of the candidate

Paper- II/III shall consist objective type questions based on the subject selected by the candidate

The candidates are required to obtain minimum marks separately in Paper-I, Paper -II and Paper-III

General; Paper-I 40 (40%); Paper-II 40 (40%); Paper-III 75 (50%)

OBC/SBC; General; Paper-I 35 (35%); Paper-II 35 (35%); Paper-III 67.5 (45%) rounded off to 68

SC/ST/ PH/VH; General; Paper-I 35 (35%); Paper-II 35 (35%); Paper-III 60 (40%)

Only such candidates who obtain the minimum required marks in each paper, separately, will be considered for final preparation of result

There will be no negative marking

A candidate who does not appear in paper-I, will not be permitted to appear in paper-II and paper-III

Syllabus of Test: The syllabi for all the papers is that of UGC/CSIR, NET examination

For science subjects; Life Science, Chemical Science, Mathematical Sciences and Physical Science, the Paper-I will be according to syllabi of UGC-NET, the Paper-II will be from the syllabi of Section (B) of
Paper-I of CSIR and Paper-III will be from the syllabi of Paper-II of CSIR

Test Centers: The test will be held on following centers

Ajmer, Bharatpur, Bikaner, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kota, Udaipur

Admit Card: Admission cards for the test containing the time table will be uploaded on the website of the commission www.rpsc.rajasthan.gov.in about two weeks before the commencement of the test

The candidates are advised to download admission card from the website www.rpsc.rajasthan.gov.in

The last date for receipt of dully filled online application form in the office of Rajasthan Public Service Commission, Ajmer shall be 30th June, 2012 up to 12.00 p.m.

Application received after the closing date and specified time shall not be entertained by the Commission in any case
