Indian Navy SSC Officer (Pilot/Observer/NAIC) – Course Commencing Jan 2017

Indian Navy has invited applications for the recruitment of Pilot/Observer/NAIC vacancies for unmarried Men & Women to join the Indian Navy as Short Service Commissioned Officer for the Course Commencing Jan 2017 at the Indian Naval Academy Ezhimala, Kerala.

Eligibility Conditions

  1. a) Age Limit for Pilot/Observer
  2. i) General Candidates: 19 to 24 years, born between 02nd Jan 1993 and 01st Jan 1998; both dates inclusive
  3. ii) CPL Holders: 19 to 25 years, born between 02nd Jan 1992 and 01st Jan 1998; both date inclusive

Note: Applications who have FAILED in PABT (Pilot Aptitude Battery Test) earlier are not eligible for Pilot Entry, but can apply for the Observer Entry scheme

  1. b) Age for NAIC – 19½ – 25 years, must have been born not earlier than 02nd Jan 1992 and not later than 01st July 1998; both date inclusive

Educational Qualifications

For Pilot & Observer: Candidate should possess BE/B.Tech in any discipline with Physics and Maths at 12th Standard. Minimum percentage in B.E./B.Tech for Pilot entry is 60% and for Observer entry 55%. CPL candidate must have vaild and current CPL issued by DGCA (India)

For NAIC: Candidate should possess BE/B.Tech with 60% in any one of the streams i.e. Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Production, Instrumentation, IT, Chemi-cal Metallurgy and Aerospace Engineering

Physical Standards

  1. a) Hight and Weight: Minimum height for Men 162.5 cms and for Women 152 cms correlated weight, leg length, sitting height and thigh length
  2. b) Eye Sight: The minimum acceptable vision standard for distant vision 6/6, 6/9 correctable to 6/6, 6/6; shoult not be colour blind/night blind

Pay Scale and Promotions

The promotion from Sub Lieutenant to Commander is on time scale basis and thereafter on selection basis subject to fulfilment of requisite service condition. The Pay Scale and promotion criteria is as follows:

  1. i) Sub Lieutenant – PB-3/15600-39100; Grade Pay – Rs.5400/-; MSP – Rs.6000/-
  2. ii) Lieutenant – PB-3/15600-39100; Grade Pay – Rs.6100/-; MSP – Rs.6000/-

iii) Lieutenant CDR – PB-3/15600-39100; Grade Pay – Rs.6600/-; MSP – Rs.6000/-

  1. iv) Commander – PB-4A/37400-67000; Grade Pay – Rs.8000/-; MSP – Rs.6000/-

Application Fee: There will be no application fee for recruitment in Indian Navy
