The Indian School of Mines, established in 1926, which offers B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical, Electronics, Environmental Science and Engineering, Mechanical, Mineral, Mining, Mining Machinery and Petroleum Engineering; and M.Tech, M.Sc, M.Sc Tech, M.Phil, MBA and Ph.D programs in the areas of Engineering, Earth Sciences, Basic and Applied Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences and Management Studies, invites application from Indian nationals for the following position
Registrar (tenure appointment, renewable)
Qualification and experience: Post-graduate degree with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade of ‘B’ in the UGC 7 point scale along with (i) at least 15 years experience as assistant professor in the AGP of Rs 7000 and above or with 8 years of service in the AGP of Rs 8000 and above including as associate professor along with experience in educational administration or (ii) Comparable experience in defence, research establishment and/or other institutions of higher education or (iii) 15 years of administrative experience, of which 8 years shall be as deputy registrar or an equivalent post
Desirable: Experience in personnel/financial/materials management, industrial relations, campus management and other aspects of administration preferably in a large educational or R&D institution, a degree/PG diploma in Law/Management and the ability to enhance and sustain computerized administration with innovation
An engineering degree in Mechanical, Civil or Architecture would also be desirable. Proven qualities and all round ability to coordinate and lead team of officers with a variety of expertise
Pay scale: PB-4 (Rs 37400-6700/-) with grade pay of Rs 10,000/-
Maximum age: The upper age limit is 52 years of age (may be relaxed in deserving case). The appointment will be on a tenure of 5 years (renewable for another tenure) or till the age of 62 yeas whichever is earlier
Prescribed application forms available with the Asstt Registrar (Estt) can be obtained by sending crossed demand draft of Rs 100/- drawn in favour of Registrar, Indian School of Mines, along with a self-addressed stamped (Rs 50/-) envelope of 30 cm x 12 cm size. SC/ST/PH candidates are exempted from paying application fee
Candidates called for interview will be paid AC II tier railway fare by the shortest route as per rules. The institute reserves the right to restrict the number of candidates for interview to reasonable limit, on the basis of qualifications and experience, higher than those prescribed in this advertisement
